Winter Weather Reminders: Staying Safe and Warm During Inclement Weather-image

As the DMV gears up for the first large snowfall of the year, ensure you're prepared for the snowy conditions and freezing temperatures. 1. Stock up on emergency supplies Check your inventory of essentials, like a first aid kit, water, non-perishables, flashlights, batteries, blankets, etc. 2. Use caution with candles and space heaters Improper use of candles and space heaters can pose a fire hazard. Do not leave them unattended. 3. Set thermostat to at least 60°F Anything lower puts the pipes at risk for freezing. Please do this, even if you will not be home! 4. Open cabinets under sinks This allows heat to circulate around pipes. Set sinks to drip if outside temperatures are below freezing. 5. Keep doors and windows closed Take the extra step to seal the bottom of your doors and windows with towels or blankets to stay warm in the event of a power outage. 6. Report power outages directly to Dominion Energy at (866) 366-4357 7. Consider staying in Snow and icy conditions on the road can create dangerous travel conditions. If you must drive, check road conditions, pack an emergency kit, and clear your vehicle of snow and ice before driving. 8. Keep your phone charged Maintain an open line of communication to stay up to date on the weather and in the event of an emergency. Don't forget to charge up power banks/portable chargers in case of a power outage. For emergency maintenance requests, call (703) 237-0600, ext. 2 Stay warm!   About Northgate at Falls Church Northgate offers quick access to Arlington, the Washington, D.C. area and some of the nation’s best schools. Spread Holiday Joy with Northgate at Falls Church’s North Pole Express! 🎄-image

The holiday season is here, and at Northgate at Falls Church, we’re thrilled to kick off the festivities with a tradition that’s close to our hearts! This year, we’re joining Morguard’s North Pole Express , a four-week donation drive focused on bringing comfort and joy to foster children. We’ve teamed up with Comfort Cases, an incredible nonprofit dedicated to supporting children in foster care, and we’d love for our Northgate community to join us in making this holiday season truly special! What Is the North Pole Express? 🎅 This isn’t just another holiday drive—it’s an opportunity to bring meaningful change to a child’s life. The North Pole Express is a nationwide initiative led by Morguard, bringing communities like Northgate together to collect essential items for foster children. Over the next four weeks, our lobby will be transformed into a cheerful collection point for your generous donations. Who Are We Supporting? 💙 We’re proud to partner with Comfort Cases , founded by Rob Scheer, who understands firsthand the challenges faced by children in the foster system. Rob started Comfort Cases to change the heartbreaking reality that many kids enter foster care with their belongings in trash bags. These “comfort cases” are backpacks filled with essentials like pajamas, books, cozy blankets, and hygiene products to provide dignity, comfort, and hope. These comfort cases are more than just backpacks—they’re a reminder to these kids that they are seen, valued, and cared for, especially during difficult transitions. How Can You Get Involved? 🎁 We invite our wonderful Northgate residents to help us spread joy this season! From now until December 13th , we’ll be collecting the following items in our lobby: New pajamas (all sizes welcome) Diaper wipes (packs of 10-48) Children’s books (to inspire bedtime stories) Small blankets & stuffed animals (for warmth and comfort) Baby washcloths (to help keep little ones clean) Please remember, all items must be new and unused , and they should not be religious or holiday-themed to ensure inclusivity for all children. Have Questions? 📞 Our team at Northgate is here to assist! If you have questions about what to donate or need more details, stop by the leasing office or give us a call. We’re always happy to help and share how you can contribute to this meaningful cause. Why Get Involved? 🤗 The holidays are all about giving back, spreading kindness, and making a difference. By supporting the North Pole Express, you’re not just donating items—you’re helping foster children feel loved and supported. Let’s come together as a community to show these kids that they’re not alone this holiday season. Let’s fill those comfort cases with love and make this holiday one to remember, Northgate family! 🎄✨ Thank you for your generosity. Together, we can make a real impact in the lives of children who need it most! 💛😊
